What you get

The referral page checked on September 14, 2026 offers eligible first-time Wealthfront clients a 0.75 percentage-point boost above the base Cash Account APY for three months, on up to $150,000 in eligible cash balances.

The page showed a 3.30% base APY and a 4.05% APY with this referral boost. The base rate is variable, so those total rates can change. A 0.75 percentage-point boost is an annualized rate increase, not a 0.75% payment for three months.

Who qualifies

The published promotion defines an eligible new client as someone who can open a Wealthfront account and has never opened or held one before. Opening a Cash Account after previously holding another Wealthfront account may not satisfy that definition.

The reviewed FAQ includes individual, joint, and trust Cash Accounts. For a new client’s joint or trust account, the referrer cannot also be a co-owner or trustee. The maximum eligible cash balance for this boost is $150,000 in aggregate, rather than a separate allowance for every account.

How to claim it

  1. Open the referral offer above. The existing link redirects to Wealthfront’s current referral signup page.
  2. Confirm the APY boost, duration, eligible balance, and new-client requirements shown there.
  3. Sign up through the referral flow and open and fund an eligible Cash Account.
  4. Check the boost and its dates in your account. Contact Wealthfront if the expected promotion is missing before assuming it has applied.

How long it lasts and what it is worth

The reviewed FAQ says the three-month boost starts once your Cash Account is opened and funded. Once it ends, the account earns the then-current base APY plus any other increase you separately qualify for. Interest is earned over time; this is not an upfront cash bonus.

For a $10,000 balance, an approximate extra-interest calculation is $10,000 × 0.0075 × 3/12 = $18.75. This is a simple estimate, not a payout quote: actual interest depends on daily balances, rates, dates, and compounding.

Separate promotions and common mistakes

The referral page also describes an investing deposit match and a separate ongoing APY increase tied to direct deposit and a funded investment account. Those have their own requirements. Do not assume opening a Cash Account alone qualifies you for every advertised reward, or that every increase can be added together without checking the terms.
